This multi-year partnership takes the form of €1.5 million in financial support, including structural funding, making Mirova Foundation France Active’s leading private partner. Through this renewed commitment, Mirova Foundation and France Active reaffirm their dedication to the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE), foster social innovation, and help build a sustainable ecosystem of cooperation for all changemakers.
Mirova Foundation & France Active: a long-standing partnership
For more than 30 years, France Active and Mirova have worked together to support the development of Social and Solidarity Economy enterprises. As the leading private investor in France Active Investissement, Mirova channels solidarity-based savings collected from citizens to address social and environmental challenges, enabling the creation and growth of thousands of SSE organizations every year.
A historic partner of France Active, Mirova has strengthened its support for our associative movement since 2023 through its endowment fund, Mirova Foundation, which is now France Active’s leading private philanthropic partner. The ambition is to support SSE leaders and nonprofit organizations by helping them envision their future and providing them with the means to strengthen their social impact. This partnership supports all of our awareness-raising and training initiatives, particularly around solidarity-based investment issues, while also showcasing the richness and strength of the SSE sector.
A visit to Carton Plein: an organization committed to social inclusion in the Paris region
On April 21, Mirova Foundation visited Carton plein alongside France Active.
Supported by France Active for several years, the organization perfectly illustrates the impact of the partnership between our two structures. Founded in 2012, Carton Plein supports people who are far from employment by helping them reintegrate into the workforce through the reuse of second-hand cardboard boxes and cargo bike delivery services.
Through its mission and commitment to supporting vulnerable populations, Carton Plein fully embodies the purpose of the partnership between Mirova Foundation and France Active. Every year, through its cardboard reuse activities and cargo bike deliveries, the organization and its associated integration structures support hundreds of people on their path back to employment.
This visit provided Mirova Foundation with the opportunity to see firsthand how its support for France Active can generate a tangible impact for beneficiaries.
