Since 2021, Mirova Foundation and Watt For Change, the VALOREM Group‘s endowment funds, have launched a partnership to jointly support a program for access to green energy around the world. This year again, the two endowment funds go on with this commitment and announce the renewal of their support for 3 NGO’s carrying out projects located in Senegal and Benin.
- Since 2019, Gbobètô NGO has been developing an ecological, healthy, and economical alternative to charcoal, which is widely used in Benin. The two ALAFIA products, eco-charcoal and improved stove, are now manufactured and distributed in Porto-Novo and its surroundings. The supply chains for raw materials and improved stoves have been strengthened. The last phase of the project consists of ensuring the sustainability of economic activities through the empowerment of the sector.
- Via Sahel project consists of setting up an agroecological farm managed by the Association of Women FASS DIOM of the village of Keur Yoro Sadio in Senegal. A 1,000m² greenhouse will be established for the cultivation and processing of peppers. An irrigation system will also be installed, powered by a well and a photovoltaic pumping system. Finally, 35 agricultural operators will be trained in organic farming methods and product processing.
- Ouaké vault project aims to expand and strengthen the low-carbon eco-construction market of Voûte Nubienne (Nubian Vault) in the districts of Sèmèrè, Ouaké and Tchalinga in Benin. Already supported, the extension of the project will create a sustainable dynamic of Nubian vault construction through the strengthening of the capacities of sector actors and its dissemination to families living in rural areas.
