Reflecting on the closing event of the Grande Cause Solutions Jeunes launched by Make.org and Mirova Foundation in 2022

In 2022, Mirova Foundation and Make.org launched a national Great Cause for Youth and Equal Opportunities. This Monday, March 10th, was an opportunity to reflect on three years of actions carried out with the ten associations selected to support the cause of young people.

In March 2022, Mirova Foundation launched with Make.org a national ‘Grande Cause’ #SolutionsJeunes for Youth and Equal Opportunities, featuring a citizen consultation around this question: ‘What solutions can ensure that every young person finds their place in society?

Supported for three years, this unique collective project brought together for the first time two co-publishers, Make.org and Mirova Foundation, who allied alongside a large coalition of more than 50 partners, including Groupe Caisse des Dépôts, La Poste, Accenture Foundation, Viva Technology, MEDEF, Mouvement Impact France, Schneider Electric, and Natixis Foundation. Our common ambition was to develop concrete solutions and support civil society actors to respond to the search for meaning expressed by youth after the Covid crisis in 2022. A quest that is more relevant than ever in 2025.

More than 300,000 people participated in the initial consultation in 2022, contributing to the collective momentum. Thanks to the numerous proposals from this online mobilization (more than 2,800 proposals) and after extensive consultation work, 10 projects were selected through a call for projects and were supported throughout the territory.

Although the ‘Grande Cause’ #SolutionsJeunes is ending, the initiatives deployed will continue to grow and reach new audiences to give every young person the best chances of success.

Citizen engagement and solidarity

  • Humeco: Less than 1% of global media coverage is dedicated to the climate crisis, despite its growing importance. Humeco addressed this challenge by creating the first media dedicated to ecology, which helps to dissect current events live.
  • Project Impact 100,000 Entrepreneurs: Through the Projet Impact (Impact Project), the collective 100,000 Entrepreneurs aims to cover the entire territory so that every young person, between 13 and 25 years old, can have an inspiring meeting with an entrepreneur during their school journey.
  • Ma Petite Planète Jeunesse: 61% of teachers express the need for mentorship, workshops, or practical training to teach sustainable development. The association Ma Petite Planète has created an app to help teachers teach ecology to students.
  • Union Bancaire pour l’éducation financière des jeunes: 69% of French people consider their financial knowledge to be average or weak. The Dilemme program by the association Crésus is an innovative program dedicated to budgetary and financial education to change young people’s relationship with money through physical and digital games.

Professional integration and discovery of trades

  • ETRE – Les Ecoles de la Transition Ecologique (Schools of Ecological Transition): Every year in France, 100,000 young people leave the school system without a diploma. Ecoles ETRE promote learning by doing to raise awareness and train in the trades of ecological transition. Within the framework of the Great Cause, ETRE Schools also benefited from financial support from Mirova Foundation and Natixis Foundation for two years (learn more about our partnership).
  • L’Outil en main: The collective works to deconstruct the perception of manual trades and change the narrative among young people to develop vocations. This, in a context where French craftsmanship lacks qualified labor, threatening the survival of many trades. L’Outil en main offers introductory workshops to more than 100 manual trades, crafts, and heritage.
  • Yookan, révélateur d’avenir (revealer of future): People distant from employment limit themselves in their professional orientation choices due to lack of information, and they turn away from institutional structures. Yookan has created spaces dedicated to job discovery and virtual professional immersion, then in real situations.

Health and living conditions of young people

  • Afuté: Afuté offers training in catering trades for young people aged 14 to 18 with disabilities through an innovative method: FUTÉs (Fiches Universelles de Tâches Élémentaires – Universal Elementary Task Sheets).
  • La B-ase: Young people leaving the Child Protection Services (ASE) often face significant difficulties in their transition to adulthood. CNAPE has developed La B-ase: a virtual third place to facilitate access to information for young people aged 16 to 25 who have benefited or are benefiting from a child protection measure.
  • Prépsy Clic: The Prépsy Clic association facilitates access to information and simplifies orientation towards the best medical and social resources to reduce the duration of untreated mental disorders among young people.

Axel Dauchez President of Make.org

In 2022, Make.org wanted to engage with young people to enable them to emancipate, find their path, and thrive. Over the three years of this ‘Grande Cause’, Make.org and Make.org Foundation, with the entire coalition, mobilized to implement an impact program to provide concrete solutions to young people, through 10 decisive actions nationwide that we are proud to present today. A huge thank you to Mirova Foundation, co-publisher of this program, to all our action carriers and partners, to all the teams mobilized around this project. Thank you for your trust and involvement throughout the three years!
